When it's time to do business, the idea that 'people buy people' may be clichéd, but it's true. Thus, when Thornbury, South Gloucestershire architects Lewis Foster Lewis needed a new website, the social connection between principal architect Russell Lewis and Evergreen's Andrew Cope created a perfect foundation for a successful business relationship.
Before Evergreen's involvement, Lewis Foster Lewis only had a single-page website. That site was inadequate for the partnership's evolving needs - attracting new clients, providing information and showcasing their portfolio.
Before the new website, preparing quotations involved Lewis Foster Lewis in time-consuming preparation of printed enclosures. A planned function of the new site was simplification of this process by linking quotations electronically to the online portfolio. And with visitors on the site, they had to be able to navigate easily to relevant information - without the burden of unnecessary content.
The first meeting went well
From the first meeting, Evergreen quickly understood what was wanted. They responded with proposals to promote the practice effectively, whilst ensuring easy content management. From the start, content was always the responsibility of Lewis Foster Lewis - making it attractive, easy to use and simple to update was down to Evergreen.

Next, Evergreen built a development site so the architects could upload information using Evergreen's 'easy to use' content management system. Recalling this stage, Russell mentions 'a few minor teething troubles, but nothing Evergreen didn't rectify quickly. After listening carefully to our requirements, they just got on with what we wanted. Since the site went live we've rarely needed support. Like the buildings and spaces that we design, the website just works.'

Russell describes the positive feedback about the design, functionality, and the content. Asked for a project highlight, he recalls the day the site went live: 'It was very rewarding to see the result of everyone's work, and to know our professional capabilities and values were now properly presented online.
