Redirection? Forwarding? Call it what you like, but the reality is that delivering your email by fax or SMS (text message) isn't just faster. It's often more flexible too and enables you to get even more out of your email account and communications equipment.

Email re-direction: forwarding is simple, easy and economical

Do you work in a noisy or dusty, computer-unfriendly, environment? Are you often out and about - yet still need to check your emails? Don't want the expense or inconvenience of upgrading to an email equipped mobile phone yet? With Evergreen's email re-direction, scenarios just like these can be covered, simply, easily and economically.

An urgent fax will often be dealt with before an overlooked email

Imagine if urgent order emails could be forwarded to your office fax machine. Anyone in your office would be able to deal with them - or find someone who could. An urgent fax will often be dealt with faster than an email that has been overlooked or remains 'locked away' in a busy or inaccessible Inbox.

Enhance your reputation as a fast-responding business partner

Email forwarding is a great solution to use with the enquiry forms on your website. Your staff can be responding within seconds, delighting your customers with a super-quick response. Making money for your business and enhancing your reputation as a fast-responding partner.

Here's how email forwarding can work for you

First, we give your fax machine or mobile phone an email address of your choice, ending with @egfax.co.uk. Once this has been set up, any email sent to your address @egfax.co.uk is delivered promptly to your chosen fax or mobile phone number.

How much does it cost?

We charge just £5 to set up your account. After that, we charge for each email that passes through your @egfax.co.uk address. Fax-calls are charged at 18p per minute, (one-minute minimum, then in 1p increments). Text messages are charged at 12p for each 160 character message. There's a minimum charge of £6 each month (equating to approximately 33 one-minute faxes, or 50 text messages).

Does this mean that messages aren't stored in my Inbox?

Not at all. Emails received through your @egfax.co.uk address can also be sent to your usual email mailbox. This gives you the benefit of having all your email available - to access in the usual way or as a record of your incoming messages.

Example 1:
Email sent to abc_company@egfax.co.uk is forwarded to your fax machine and sales@abc_company.com. Alternatively, copies of email sent to your existing email address can be forwarded to your new @egfax.co.uk address. This prevents you having to change your corporate stationery.

Example 2:
Email sent to info@abc_company.com is copied and forwarded to abc_company@egfax.co.uk and subsequently arrives on your fax machine.

Ultimate flexibility

With Evergreen's email to fax or text messaging, your email can be sent to a combination of fax machines, mobile phones and email accounts. Multiple people and/or departments can receive that vital order simultaneously. The choice is yours. Once you've subscribed to our email-to-fax/mobile phone service, there's no extra charge for multiple re-direction.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: How are the faxes formatted?

A: Your incoming emails are printed on the fax as plain text using a mono-spaced font (Courier), and a maximum of 80 characters per line. This produces an easy-to-read document.
The email header is shown as: Fax To: - Email From: - Subject:

Q: What if the email has an attachment?

A: We process and print attachments with the following formats:

  • Text files (.txt)
  • Adobe Acrobat (.pdf)
  • Microsoft Word (.doc)
  • Microsoft Excel (.xls)
  • HTML (.htm .html)
  • Comma-Separated Files (.csv)
  • Email (.eml)

If the attachment format is not recognised we print a note on the fax. e.g. "britney.mp3 (2343kb) was attached".

Q: Why are images not in the above list? Are images printed as part of the fax?

A: Images need to be included in a PDF document or a MS Word document to format and print correctly on the fax.

Q: What happens if my fax machine doesn't get the email?

A: If an email can't be delivered first time, our equipment will retry automatically (with a gradual increase in the time between each attempt). If we still can't get through, one of our technicians will phone you to sort out the problem. We guarantee you will never lose an email.

Q: How long does it take for the email to arrive?

A: It generally takes about 4 seconds before we start dialling your fax machine. As many faxes are only one page long, you'll usually have the printed fax within a minute.

Q: My fax machine is outside of the UK. Can I still use your service?

A: Yes, we can send faxes to any fax machine, anywhere in the world. Tell us where you are and we'll quote you a rate.

Q: Do I have to give notice to quit using the service?

A: No, just tell us and you can stop straight away. You will only be billed for the usage to date (£6 monthly minimum still applies).

Q: What about VAT?

A: VAT at the current UK rate is added to all bills, except those customers outside of the European Union.

Q: How often will you bill me?

A: We'll email or fax an invoice to you at the end of each month. This will list your call usage and the charge per call. Payment is due on receipt of the invoice.

Q: You haven't answered all my questions here.

A: We love a challenge. Please contact us - we're here to help you.
