week 12Is your website upwardly mobile? In the world of the internet, everything changes at a pace. Since the advent of tablets and smart 'phones, companies having a new website designed for them have been given the option to have their site optimized for mobile performance.  Up until quite recently, the choice has purely been a personal one.  This year however, whether your website can be viewed on mobile devices has further repercussions.

Of all the search engines on the internet, Google and its influence is known to all.  The might of Google comes in to play next month with those websites that can are accessible on tablets and ‘phones being given higher ranking in Google searches than those that don’t.  You can read further information about the changes by clicking here.

With the implementation of these changes, it may be pertinent for you to take a moment to consider any other changes to your website which may boost your company in the ever important ranking system.

security 1The addition of a Security (or SSL) certificate to your website will also give you an edge when it comes to Google.  Indeed, this simple data file has been helping websites climb the Google rankings since September last year.

Even putting Google to one side, having an SSL on your website is no bad thing.  By encrypting information passed between your browser and others, it will keep your company’s data safe and ensure a secure experience for everyone visiting your website.  Many large websites including the big players in social media, and Google’s own email system, Gmail, have used the secure system for some time now.

Secure sites can be recognised by the green padlock in the URL bar as well as the https prefix to the website address.  By using a secure system, credit card details and login information will all be kept safe.  You can read further information about SSLs and what they can do for you in our recent blog.
