Custom CMS for The Survey Centre

Marketing Manager, Jon Baily had previously worked with Evergreen in developing the back office database system for his company's corporate site,

The newly branded Survey Centre is an independently owned business of chartered surveyors covering the South West and Central England and South Wales.

Evergreen Challenge:
To create a marketing website for their surveying brand, The Survey Centre.

Evergreen Solution:
Evergreen created...

  • A simple but effective marketing website with fully integrated simple blog platform
  • A easy-to-use Content Management System (CMS)
  • A feature for PDF information documents to be downloaded.
  • Social media buttons to connect with Twitter and Facebook.

Just a few months after launching the new website, Jon Baily reported an increase in enquiries, with visitors spending longer on the site and viewing more pages, as well as noticing a reduction in the website bounce rate.

Full Case Study

The Gloucester Property Centre's first interaction with Evergreen was in early 2010 having been introduced to the Gloucestershire web based software development company by their design agency BML to develop their corporate site, The Property Centre. (Gloucester and Worcester's top selling estate agency). With BML creating the look and feel of the website, Evergreen developed the back-end functionality, integrating the property database feed that drives the site to allow customers to share their property details across all major social media platforms, and register to receive details of property as they come onto the market.

The Property Centre's subsidiary company Mpower Surveyors, was established as one of the South West's leading firms of Surveyors and Valuers with over 100 years experience to its credit. Due to the emergence of the energy supplier N Power, some confusion had arisen over time with the company name,. As they already owned the domain name, re-branding the company to include a brand new marketing website to advertise the range of professional advice and surveys that is offered by chartered surveyors, seemed the logical step to take.

Improved customer communication

So in 2013 pleased with the ongoing support from Evergreen, Marketing Manager, Jon Baily contacted Gloucestershire-based web development specialists Evergreen to discuss how the new proposed marketing website should look and function.

The old Mpower website had included a limited amount of content and was not fully optimised for search engines with no scope for customer interaction. With a re-brand there is always the opportunity to include new features. Evergreen included a simple blog platform that was fully integrated into the easy to use Content Management System (CMS) as well as adding social media links. This enabled The Survey Centre to increase the levels of information and products offered and improve customer communication.

Jon Baily's confidence in Evergreen's ability to meet the company's requirements was clear from the start and he confirms that he was well supported by Evergreen and everything ran very smoothly with the project.

'Evergreen certainly delivered the site that answered the brief. They have always been supportive and responsive to any web problems we have had.'

So what has changed since Evergreen have done the work? Jon Baily points out that whilst no real meaningful statistics were gathered from the Mpower website, he has certainly noticed a healthy change to the statistics they are now gathering and has seen an increase in the number of enquiries since the new site went live a few months ago. Says Jon,

'Whilst we have no like for like stats to compare the old site with the new one, we have seen a reduction in the bounce rate on our website and people are viewing more pages and spending longer on the site.'

Plans for future development of the site include optimising the site for mobiles and the possibility of a stand alone Wordpress platform for the blog. Will Jon Baily be continuing to call on Evergreen's services? Jon confirms,

'I have worked with a number of web design agencies and can say that my experience working with Evergreen has been positive and I would definitely recommend them to other businesses.'
